My Weekend with WeWoreWhat

So, this weekend was one of the coolest weekends ever! I was able to see the queen of Instagrams twice. Not only did I see @Weworewhat’s Danielle Bernstein at WWD’s Style Dimension, but I was also able to meet her in person at her MOE assist office as well!

Starting off fashion week, I reached out to Danielle from her story by emailing the MOE assist team and asking them to meet. Surprisingly, a member of the MOE team responded back and we planned a time to meet!

So, today, I went to her office and it was amazing!! I started off meeting one of the girls on her team, named Hattie, and she took me through all the offices until we go to MOE. As we walked in, Danielle BERSTEIN was there and I got to meet her! I didn’t think I was going to meet her since her busy schedule for NYFW, but the other girls told me that not everyone gets to meet her. She was so sweet! I was able to speak with her for a bit and took some cute selfies before she left!

Once she left, Hattie and I got down to business discussing all the cool features of MOE assist. I think one of the coolest things about the program is that it literally has everything on it! From planning out posts for Instagram to having conversations with brands to discuss collaborations to even working out payment deals that go straight to your bank! I think the feature I’ll use the most for where I’m at is the feature where I can reach out to brands to discuss collaborations.

For the WWD Style Dimension panel, Danielle Bernstein talked all about the different collabs that she’s had, how she got started in the first place and where she is right now as a blogger, influencer and entrepreneur. She spoke about how her WeWoreWhat blog started off as a streetstyle blog from when she went to FIT, and that’s how it took off. She spoke about the criticism that she received from people saying that she wouldn’t get far with her blog, but look at her now!

She was also asked about her new designs coming out in Macy’s and how it differs from her current collaborations with Joes Jeans and Onia. That her Macy’s collection is going to be less expensive than her Joes Jeans and Onia collections are.

Once questions were opened up to the audience, there were many about how to get more engagement as an influencer/blogger. Her advice to the crowd was to stay genuine to who you are, try connecting to people who are most similar to you and always put yourself out there with reaching out to new brands. When asked about how her collaborations are always so successful its because she always represents the products she sells, including her watch collection, swimsuits, jeans, and now her new collection with Macy’s.

After the panel, there was time for pictures with her. I made my way to the front and got to talk to her a little more and she remembered me (probably because I was constantly tagging her in videos and photos from the day before lol) but it was so cool!

Overall, it was such a privilege to be able to meet her because we all know how hard working and successful she is that it makes me so much more motivated just being around her for the small amount of time I was!
