Cruisin around the world
If you have seen my Instagram, you know that I just took an amazing vacation to Europe, stopping in Barcelona, Rome, Naples, Florence, Nice and Mallorca. Now, I’m here to share my amazing experience at these places with you!
My vacation started off in Barcelona for 4 days, where we did all sorts of activities. We rented an apartment off of La Ramblas, so we were very close to the city.
On my first day, we walked around La Ramblas to get familiar with it, and later went to dinner at a restaurant called El Gòtic in the Plaza Real. I ended the day with getting some amazing gelato!
On the second day, we went full tourist mode. Starting out morning seeing the Sagrada Família (where I made the mistake of wearing a strapless dress and was almost not allowed in!) Then we then walked back home, passing the Casa Mila, Casa de les Punxes, and Casa Batlló. We then went out to dinner at this AMAZING seafood place called La Boqueria.
The third day in Barcelona was strictly a beach day at the Barceloneta beach and ended the day with doing some shopping, where I got some adorable clothes and jewelry.
The fourth day was boarding day, where we checked out of our apartment in Barcelona to head on to the Norwegian epic cruise with over 4500 people on it! On the cruise, we each had our own package. My brother had the unlimited soda package, my dad had the unlimited beverage package (which I also took advantage of), my mom had the tour package where she could get $50 off all tours that we took while we were there, and I had the unlimited social media package (which is how I was able to post so many pictures while I was away!)
We spent the first two days on the cruise (which is when we were out at sea) on the pool deck tanning, going on the slides, having drinks, watching the sunset and going in the hot tub.
The third day of the cruise was when we docked at our first destination: Naples. In Naples, we did a hop on hop off tour (of what), went to the San Ferdinando palace, then did another hop on hop off tour (of what).
The fourth day of the cruise was a busy one, we went to Rome and saw so many places thanks to my moms friend who works at Sinopie Arte Al Centro (a tourism company). We started off at the Roman Forum then went to the Coliseum, then all the way over to the Vatican City and the 16 chapels, which, in New York City terms, is like going from Central Park to Little Italy. It’s far. We moved pretty fast through all the site to see all of them in the 5 hours of touring that we did.
The fifth day of the cruise was Florence, where my mom and I did some shopping and saw the Marist Florence Campus, while my brother and dad went to the Leaning Tower of Piazza. The campus was sprawled out along different streets in Florence, but it’s all within walking distance and had a great view of the Duomo and the city. We also went to Ponte Vecchio (which I highly recommend) to see the beautiful landscaping and colorful houses along the river. There were also a ton of great shops in Florence as well!
The sixth day we were in Nice, France and did a hop on hop off tour around the city (which is the best way to see a city when it’s 100 degrees out). We walked through the local street market of fresh fruits and veggies, ate some amazing gelato, and did some shopping. It was a pretty relaxed day!
The last day of the cruise, we visited Palma Mallorca, Spain. My mom and I biked to the beach and tanned all day!
After the cruise docked back in Barcelona, we stayed for another 24 hours, where we went to the beach and did one less hop on hop off tour to see the site we didn’t get to go to in Barcelona for next time!
